Summary: Explore a journey of self-discovery with “The Yearning,” a poetic exploration that points us in the direction of introspection, challenging us to look within to find answers. Instead of a fruitless race to catch the mirage, it sparks a revolution to ignite the flame in our hearts, lighting the path to understand ourselves better.
The Yearning
(To teach the senses
The answer is not outside)
A longing for home
Often misunderstood
Is the key in the trunk
Or under the hood?
And we polish the surface
Of this magical car,
Speeding through a lifetime-
Was the answer on Mars?
No matter how fast
The speedometer goes,
We can’t quite catch up
To that mirage in the flow
But spin it around
Put the crate up on blocks
Watch your mind yank the wheel
Watch it chatter, then bulk
And turn the ignition
On the flame in the heart
Let it light the way
To the Self- for us moths in the dark.
