Amrita Yoga
When we perform yoga with complete awareness, it purifies each cell in our body.
—Amma
Many people visit our ashram centers worldwide to deepen their spiritual practices. People are familiar with Yoga to relieve stress, but Amrita Yoga is also a sadhana—a spiritual practice you can do on your own when you return home or wherever you are.
An Amrita Yoga Sadhana Retreat explores the four paths of Yoga with the living example of a Supreme Yogini. These Sadhana Retreats are very personalized. The teacher will help you find your level of practice. Every asana has a beginner, intermediate, and advanced stage. You don’t have to compete or push yourself; find your level.
The Upanishads say: Humankind is walking over treasure every day. If they would only dig deep, they would find it.
Yoga is not just a sequence of asanas but an ancient system, a path for Self-Realization. Everyone is unique, and yoga is suited for any temperament.
Karma Yoga is selfless service. This can take place anywhere.
Bhakti Yoga is a devotional practice. Singing bhajans led by Amma is a rare divine experience.
Jnana Yoga is the path of inquiry. Senior swamis and longtime devotees give inspiring talks.
Raja Yoga is the path of meditation. Skillful means will be provided in such forms as pranayama, mudras, and bhavana.
Amrita Yoga Sadhana Retreats are potent recalibrations of your spiritual practice. All are welcome to embark on this Inner Journey of peace, bliss, and beauty.
“I was having trouble balancing in Tree Posture, but with awareness of the heart, I had no trouble! I felt more present… softer… more available.” – V.
