Silent Meditation and Yoga Retreat
– All Levels –

Meditation is more precious than gold…

Amma often says, “Meditation is more precious than gold.”

She wants us to imbibe these simple words so we can attain the greatest wealth in life – genuine and lasting happiness.

In the early days of Amritapuri, along with performing selfless service, disciples spent much of their day guided by Amma in meditation.

Amrita Yoga is now offering a special new retreat with an emphasis on meditation in silence.

A Week of Silent Meditation

A week of silent meditation in the ashram of a living Perfect Master is the ideal way to develop self-mastery and transform the usually turbulent mind into a powerful ally.

The focused structure of this new retreat has been designed to support participants in cultivating the art of taking refuge in the Self.

By learning to control the mind, we are able to experience the deep inner peace and joy that is our True Nature.

A Foundation for a lifetime of meditation practice.

This course reinforces existing spiritual practices and provides the foundation for a lifetime of meditation practice. Connecting with this sacred and ancient wisdom within ourselves brings meaning to life.

Benefits include clarity and strength of mind to achieve your goals, staying centered in an ever-changing world and overcoming stress and tension.

Amma’s simple technique of breath awareness infused with the MA OM mantras and open observation makes this retreat suitable for all levels of experience in meditation from beginner to advanced. Meditation form at alternates between sitting and walking sessions.

When Amma is present in the ashram, there will be daily opportunities to meditate close to Amma and to join her beautiful beach meditation on the shores of the Arabian Sea.

Yoga – Bhajans – Satsang

In addition, there will be an energizing morning yoga class suitable for all levels of practitioner to bring health and vitality to the body and prepare it for sitting comfortably in meditation.

The retreat also features a short daily Q&A session, inspiring satsangs and bhajans. Receiving Amma’s darshan together as a class (when Amma is in the ashram) sets the tone for this powerful inward journey.

Accomodation and Food

The International Office will do their best to accommodate participants in silent rooms, as either shared or private, but no guarantees can be made.

A fresh and healthy diet greatly enhances prolonged meditation practices, so the meals will be specially catered for participants with a mix between sattvic Western and Indian food.

The location for this retreat, classes and meals, is in the Seashore Building on the beach.

We invite you to come sit with Amma in Her loving embrace and dive into the ocean of bliss and inner freedom.
